Starbucks: Why it's so successful on social media

Post by sohanuzzaman56 »

The Famecount study has placed Starbucks at the top of its popularity ranking , above other food giants, as the best positioned brand in social media , even surpassing Coca-Cola. Although the study is merely quantitative ( we have seen cases of successful companies that build relationships with their customers and do not obsess over their followers ), it is also interesting to analyze the elements present in their online strategy, the reason for their success.

Starbucks

How does Starbucks interact, listen and participate binance data in social media? Its strategy includes elements such as :

1) Engagement . Through its Twitter profile , Starbucks integrates, commits and takes responsibility for its actions, responding to questions, retweets and what people say about the brand, and creates open communication to talk to the public.

2) Content . On its Facebook profile , Starbucks uploads videos, posts, and photos. It also invites people to events, and fans have a place to open discussions and comment, as many do.

3) More unique content . Starbucks’ YouTube channel is a large gallery of commercial videos, informational videos (explaining the origins of their coffee blends) and some of their collaborations and charity activities. They also upload videos explaining the history of their brand, thus allowing people to better relate to it. Starbucks also allows people to “embed” or embed their videos anywhere they want on the web. (It should be noted that many companies do not allow this for fear of their videos ending up on pages they do not wish to be associated with.) This strategy has shown to positively increase exposure for brands that allow this, and not the opposite.

4) Listen and Integrate . Social Network. “My Starbucks Idea” is Starbucks’ social network where customers can share their ideas or anything related to Starbucks. The site allows you to see what others suggest, vote on ideas and check the results. This place that Starbucks makes for its customers is key to the company’s social strategy. Users who are part of the network have a role in the company’s decision-making process and make them feel part of it.

5) Allowing to be a part of it. Blog. “Ideas in Action,” the company’s blog, is maintained by several Starbucks employees and explains what the company does with the ideas submitted by its users on the “My Starbucks Idea” site. The blog keeps customers up to date on what’s happening with their ideas while increasing brand loyalty.

The overall view of Starbucks' social media strategy is that the company has created a broad dialogue with customers , allowing them to provide feedback and receive responses to their concerns, combining and integrating multiple channels into a comprehensive strategy that includes engagement and building dynamic, proactive and committed relationships.
