Three-quarters of French people stop spending a month before Black Friday

Business email provider Esendex surveyed 5,000 consumers worldwide, including 500 in France, to find out how they are approaching Black Friday and the holiday season.
80% of shoppers start saving a month before Black Friday
According to research conducted by Esendex, more than three quarters (80%) of French consumers stop spending up to a month before Black Friday in order to be able to get a good deal during the sales.
Retailers must therefore be ready in time: 85% of consumers want to be informed about Black Friday up to a month in advance , with just over half ( 55% ) of them wanting to be informed two weeks in advance .

With almost one in two French people preferring to contact companies via SMS or WhatsApp, the choice of which communication channel to use is becoming increasingly clear.
“Statistics show that time spent on smartphones is almost 5 hours per day and that seven out of ten people check unread notifications in less than five minutes. Conversational channels such as SMS and WhatsApp are therefore essential for Black Friday and end-of-year sales,” explains Cécile Coullet, Marketing Lead at Esendex France.
